Is there still a school of thought, starting in the 60s and up, that there are certain AAs worth taking at that time as they become available over just sticking to gaining levels? I found this page on AA placement but it looks a bit outdated: almarsguides.com/eq/general/aaplacement.cfmI currently have 70 or so AAs placed. I'm wondering if the suggestion on the site to stop every 5 levels or so for 100 or more AAs to place is a sound decision, or if I should just worry about level atm?

You could just turn auto-grant on and automagically get the most common AAs available to your level. Then you don't really need to bother with AAs until 105 unless there's something that isn't automagically granted (I don't think TS-related AAs are auto-granted.)
Since I do auto-grant AAs, I'm probably not going to bother with them until I'm max level, but that's just me.

Auto-grant is only available to gold members. If not gold then you have to place all AA's. On my silver account(2nd account) i am lvl 54 and i run at 50 % AA. I typically choose the AA's that would benefit me the most in the next few lvls. I tradeskill on that account alot so i have maxed those, if it were my main then i would probably use aa more geared towards fighting. That being said i dont think i would ever raise my aa xp past 50% unless i really thought i needed some AA's to progress through the next lvls

Oh, didn't realize auto-grant was only available to gold members. I don't think I could go back to free-to-play after being gold. It's a PITA.

At 100% in Blackfeather Roost right now I get AAs pretty swiftly, several in a 30 minute period, even more with the XP buff from Veterans on, so not like it is going slowly. According to the site, there aren't too many on his list that I can train in according to my level, either. I just don't know if it is a waste of time or not.
I guess the real question is for a Bst who largely molos, going from 61+, do AAs make that considerably easier?

As a Bst, I would get the AA's that make your pet stronger, if I remember right, its been many years since I was that level, now I'm a gold member so I get auto AA's.

Ok, I don't think they are available to me yet. I want to say those start around 75. If that's the case I can level up to 75 and then start training in those and not worry about the rest in the meantime.
That is actually why I was asking. Most of the early ones available help me but not my pet, when for a Bst the pet really does most of the work tanking. Granted, it never hurts to have more HP or mana regen, or more HP or mana, but the ones that probably help me out the most are the pet ones or the ones increasing my dmg output.
