So we now have several active mains that are in the upper 80s to low 90s ranger - Priiya and UIlen and Palaedi are 91, Windiin 90, Pryssylus nearly 90. I think Firesox and Hann are in there somewhere.
Windiin and I have explored Seeds of Destruction content, Underfoot content and HoT content, and have not found a decent location for xp: the Grounds is probably the closest thing to 'decent' and we can manage that between the two of us. But it's gonna take some serious grinding to even make a level or two there. We're not yet able to handle the Valley between us. One problem is: no tanks. The merc tanks can't take the hits at the Grounds, let alone the Valley. Windiin's warder can handle the former, not the latter.
In other words, there are a few of us feeling a bit stuck at this level.
So I'm wondering if we can arrange for some times when some of the higher level players would be available to tank for us, even if it's a merc tank - not looking to be PLd, but rather for a helping hand to to allow us to achieve some levels, get unstuck and moving again.
Thoughts?

most times am always willing to lend a merc so your able to go at your own pace but able to use a stronger merc to tank for you specially if u see me just sitting in pok send a tell and see if avail if I am will gladly assist

I did very well at level 91 with Journeyman Tier 5 tank and healer mercenaries doing the three kill tasks from Morrin in The Well. It would usually be my druid, my enchanter, the two mercs, and one or two lower level players (75+) to fill the group. The mercs basically were on auto pilot and I just pulled, did DPS and crowd control, and kept buffs going. The xp is pretty good and the bonus xp from the tasks make it a really good camp. Standing on top of him is pretty safe; just pull to the group. Are some of you guys on F2P accounts or have you not upgraded your mercs to J5?

Thanks Mini - much appreciated. I'm taking you up on that as we speak.  Shalkak that sounds perfect - both my accounts are gold - I know i can access J mercs, but don't know level yet I'll check that out ASAP and try out the well and those tasks. Hugely helpful tips, thanks! |

If you need to upgrade your mercs, it's a huge power boost from J1 to J5. Here is the quest. It will take you less than 20 minutes. everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=7485Mercenaries gain new stats every 5 levels. When you ding level 76, they gain all of their stats as though they are level 80. When you ding 81, they gain all of their stats as though they are level 85. And so on. So there's a big boost in power when you make 91. |

i am lvl 90 with the j5 merc i have also upgraded to have 2 merc slots so i can bring a tank or healer or switch if needed. The j5 merc quest is very easy if you need help or have questions(like i did) i will gladly help

Thanks guys. I confirmed that I've been running with a J1 merc, and Mini pointed me to the 'helpful links' section here that includes a link to J5 quest, so will be doing that first thing for both of my toons/accounts! I assume as long as my monk and my chanter are grouped, they will both get access to J5 by completing the quest together? We'll see...
Hann, I did the same as you - have 2 slots I can switch between tank and healer for monk, and healer and dps for chanter. Thanks for the offer of help, I may take you up on it!

Just wanted to close the loop here - the J5 merc is a game changer. Been doing HoT upper floors, Castle, Valley, Argath with no probs. At 92 and moving slowly but steadily through...thanks for all of the great advice folks!

It seems my Firesox account has been hacked and I haven't been able to get on for the past few days. I am not sure when I can get that account back but I should be able to login on other account. My petition about the issue has gone unanswered so far:((
