Since I was planning to use the free Heroic upgrade on Ghan, as I don't really have time to play any alts currently, I was trying to look up some info about strategy for Beastlords at 85+. I came across a post where a guy emphatically said to NEVER use DoT spells. Most of the other posters were in agreement, with the strategy basically to spam all of your current top 5 DD spells instead. Is that sound strategy? Just wondering as at my current level I cast both my disease and poison DoTs on most mobs.

After finding and reading more, it appears this is from a perspective of DPS, DDs have more throughput than DoTs in our line. It also deals with raiding where Bst DoTs will take up spots that could be Necro DoTs which are much more powerful.

This is really useful info Ghan - thanks for posting! I took advantage of the free heroic to take me BST to 85 as well, and currently struggling to assimilate all the new capabilities. Let's go party in the grounds sometime!  |

Sounds good! I too am a bit overwhelmed with all the new abilities and how to use them effectively.
I saw you mentioned burn rotation in the other thread, I am still learning about that. I haven't had much playtime at 85 yet but hope to be making some time here soon to learn the ropes of 85+ BLing. Just going over all the spells and AAs I now have compared to 68 took a while after I went Heroic.
